Selling your House on PrimeLocation

What is PrimeLocation?

Primelocation is a property portal based in the UK and was founded in 2001 by a group of over 200 estate agents. The site specialises in the listing of middle and up-market properties for sale and to rent in the UK and internationally.

After years of continued growth, the company was acquired in 2006 by the Daily Mail and General Trust. Zoopla acquired Primelocation in 2011 in a bid to challenge Rightmove.

Primelocation receives over 5 million visits per month and has long been considered as the 3rd largest property portal in the UK. This position, however, has been challenged more recently by OntheMarket.

What services does PrimeLocation offer?

Primelocation uses the same online property advertising model as Rightmove and Zoopla. It provides essential information and resources for home buyers, sellers and estate agents.

Users can also register for the ‘Prime' service, allowing for the tracking of favourite listings and a more dedicated search experience.

Advertising on Primelocation

The majority of home buyers start their property search online (over 98%). Primelocation gains a lot of visibility as a result of this. Similar to the other property portals, advertising on Primelocation is only available to registered estate agents.

To get your property listed on Primelocation, you will have to instruct an online estate agent or high-street agent

Primelocation or Onthemarket?

The majority of estate agents usually provide listings across Rightmove, Zoopla and Primelocation as standard. More recently, OntheMarket has gained an increase in listings and traffic as it looks to disrupt the market duopoly of both Rightmove and Zoopla.

OntheMarket has also recently focused heavily on advertising, promising property listings 24 hours before they appear on Rightmove and Zoopla.

It is recommended to understand the benefits of both platforms and use them if required in order to maximise exposure and get your house sold as quickly as possible.
